This is coming quite late, so I thought I would keep it short and sweet. At the start of the semester I wrote myself a little note encouraging myself to be open & honest and to try new things. Looking back on my note, it’s a bit cliché and generic – plain advice for an uncertain future. I’m about halfway through the semester here, so now I’m going to give myself some new advice: take time to reflect & make goals for each week (even silly ones). Reflection is the a way to grow and learn, to become more brave and thoughtful. So, here goes some simple reflections about Denmark.
Challenges I’ve found in Denmark: No stainless steel pans. Anti-immigrant sentiments. Talking about giving birth. High cost of living. Making new friends.
Things I love about Denmark: Swing dancing with new people. Cute, colorful buildings. Eating at Reffen. Public transportation. Living near the water.

And for this week, my two goals are (1) to be more patient with my friends, my host family and myself, and (2) do something (outside of class) with a new friend. Sending love and best thoughts from Copenhagen, as always.
